Kickin' COVID-19: Reopening Texas Summit

James K Burgess III

President, American Biomedical Group, Inc.

James K. Burgess III is the founder and President of American Biomedical Group, Inc (ABGI). Mr. Burgess is a bio-chemistry graduate of West Virginia University with degrees in biomedical engineering technology and electronics engineering technology from Forest Park College in Saint Louis, MO. He has over 40 years experience in the Healthcare industry including his work with ABGI as a Department of Defense contractor maintaining the centers for biological and chemical defense over the past twenty-seven years. Mr. Burgess received a Congressional Award by the Department of Energy for the best energy managed hospital in the US, along with the Healthcare Forum/3M Innovator Award for Best Cost Saving for Healthcare Management.

Mr. Burgess has also founded ABG Tag and Traq, a research and development venture dedicated exclusively to radio-frequency location and tracking systems built on ultra wideband technologies, used for tracking high-value assets for healthcare, military and commercial organizations.

Susan Fletcher

Susan Fletcher serves as Collin County Commissioner for Precinct 1, representing West Plano, Frisco, Prosper, Celina and Northwest McKinney on the Collin County Commissioners Court and as a member of the 9 member board appointed by the Governor responsible for overseeing the Texas County and District Retirement System that manages and administers the retirement funds of county and district employees across Texas.

In her professional life prior to public office, Susan has worked for Sunbelt Savings / Bank of America as a Commercial Interior Space Planner, and later worked freelance as an independent contractor in the commercial construction industry.

Outside of her professional career, Susan is an outspoken grassroots activist, who is not only committed to serving the people of Collin County, but passionate about volunteering her time and talents to help the community, local arts and emerging leaders.  In 2018-19, Susan served on the UNT Master Planning Committee for the new Frisco campus.  She has served as the International Travel Coordinator for All the Difference Radio, chaired a fundraising event with benefiting Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center, located outside of Tel Aviv, to convert their underground parking facility into a wartime emergency room. In her free time, Susan enjoys expressing her creativity through art, photography and writing. She is also an avid travel enthusiast and Master SCUBA diver. She has been featured in Season 9, 10 and 11 of the Fireball Run Adventurally Series which airs on Amazon Prime, featuring an 8-day road rally challenge covering over 2,000 miles, raising awareness and helping to find America's Missing Children. 

Married since 1993 to her husband, Brian, they moved to Collin County (Frisco) in 1996 and have one adult son, Patrick.

George C. Fuller

A second generation builder and developer, George C. Fuller has developed community infrastructures, retail shopping centers, condominiums, business centers and some of the most award winning and decorated homes in North Texas. Mr Fuller has been honored for his work through the George C. Fuller Contracting with the Builder of the Year Award six years in a row by renowned “D Magazine” while also receiving honors from the National Home Builder Association Awards, including “Best Craftsmanship,” “Best Overall Home,” “Best Floor Plan,” and multiple "People’s Choice" awards. Currently, Mr. Fuller is the managing construction partner for Adriatica, a 46 acre, high density, mixed-use development located in McKinney, Texas.

Mr. Fuller also owns The Guitar Sanctuary, a high end guitar and music equipment boutique recently named one of the Top 20 Coolest Guitar Shops in the country by Premier Guitar magazine, along with The Sanctuary Music and Event Center and the Sanctuary Performance Academy.

Mr. Fuller served as Chairman of the McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC), a 4B sales tax corporation whose purpose is to enhance McKinney's aesthetic, cultural and leisure amenities. The MCDC was created in 1996, by the McKinney City Council and residents who recognized the need to set aside money for this important public service. The MCDC is responsible for promoting and funding community facilities and related projects throughout the city. Mr. Fuller is President of the Stonebridge Ranch Commercial Association and a member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a Board Director for Meals on Wheels. In May of 2017, Mr. Fuller was elected Mayor of McKinney, Texas. He is currently serving his first 4 year term.

Mr. Fuller is married to Maylee Thomas-Fuller, a singer, mother of four and co-founder of the Love Life Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 1992. The Love Life Foundation is dedicated to bringing awareness of the many tragedies inflicted upon our children and identifying and supporting those agencies and groups that bring relief and comfort to these young victims and their families. Maylee was voted McKinney Citizen of the Year in 2014 in great part due to her humanitarian efforts and initiatives in our community. Maylee and George also support the humanitarian and educational needs of St. Yared orphanage in Axum, Ethiopia where they were introduced to one of their four children in 2007.

Traci Mayer

Executive Director, Hotel Association of North Texas

As Executive Director of the Hotel Association of North Texas, Traci Mayer oversees the activities and operations of this over 90-year-old not-for-profit organization which advocates for the best interests of the hospitality industry and supports educational programming, professional development and workforce initiatives that strengthen the industry.

Ms. Mayer brings 30 years of experience in management, administration, sales, marketing and public relations. She has spent the past 22 years in association management, 15 of those in the hospitality community as the Executive Director of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area Tourism Council and its' sister organization and non-profit arm, the Tourism Alliance of North Texas. During which time, she oversaw the Certified Tourism Ambassador program for North Texas which trained over 3000 people as CTA's.

In her previous position, she was Executive Director of the Texas Central Hemophilia Association working on behalf of Texans affected by bleeding disorders and started off her association career as Executive Director for the Society of Behavioral Medicine.

She currently serves on the board for the VisitDallas, the Advisory Board for the College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism for UNT, Conrad High School NAF Advisory Board, and serves on the CitySquare Hospitality Board.  Ms. Mayer is a Dallas native and a graduate of Texas A&M University.  She is married with two children and enjoys helping connect people with opportunities.

Pam Minick

Executive Vice President of Marketing, Billy Bob’s Texas

Pam Minick is one of the most recognized women in the livestock and equine world and is the Executive Vice President of marketing for Billy Bob's Texas where she and husband Billy  are part-owners.  Pam has led the marketing team since 1989.   During the past 3 decades of marketing the 100,000 square foot entertainment center in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, Billy Bob’s has been named the Country Music Club of the year 12 times.  With a capacity of more than 6000 fans, Pam has promoted concerts from Garth Brooks to Ringo Starr.

Pam is a former Miss Rodeo America and world champion roper.  She has been inducted into the National Cowgirl and National Cowboy Halls of Fame.  A groundbreaker for women in sports broadcasting, Pam has hosted more than 1000 television shows on ESPN, TNN, NBC, and CBS.  She currently produces and hosts programs on RFD TV and The Cowboy Channel.  

Pam was named "Great Woman of Texas" in 2006, received the "Dateline Award" from the American Advertising Federation in 2015 and was named “Western Horseman of the Year” in 2016.

Pam and Billy live on a small ranch in Argyle, Texas where they enjoy team roping.

Michael Simmons, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC

Managing Director - Technology, Chief Information Security Officer, Southwest Airlines

Michael Simmons currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Southwest Airlines. In this role, Michael is accountable for all aspects of cybersecurity across Southwest’s facilities, airports, and aircraft, comprising of security engineering, security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, risk and compliance, and security software development. Michael joined Southwest in 2016 and has since been involved with driving forward Southwest’s cybersecurity capabilities and securely enabling Southwest’s business initiatives.

Michael currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board for the Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC), an organization focused on cybersecurity information sharing and analysis across the global aviation sector.

Prior to joining Southwest, Michael spent 19 years at Dallas-based Brinker International, Inc., one of the world’s leading casual dining restaurant companies that owns and operates Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy. Michael began his journey as a bartender and food server for Chili’s Grill & Bar before joining Brinker International’s I.T. help desk as a restaurant technology support analyst. Michael previously had leadership accountability for cybersecurity, I.T. strategy and enterprise architecture, I.T. maintenance and support, and I.T. service management where he helped lead a multi-year department-wide transformation initiative to better align information technology with the business to deliver strategic initiatives.

Michael is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). Michael is married to his wife, Sonia, and they are avid golfers who enjoy traveling both domestically and internationally.
